Congrats! You've managed to track down the very first Bean Chase hostess! Yep, I'm the one who purchased a toe ring in a back alley in Bali!

The next step in the game is easy. All you need to do is leave a comment right here about how long you've been scrapbooking and you are in the running for these delicious soup ingredients...

A random winner will be picked on Friday, May 8th at 7:00AM EST. Thanks for playing Bean Chase and have a great day!

From your soup slurpin' pal,

Sarah

Here's one for you, Grandma

It's time for a layout for Grandma. Something featuring her grandkids. Something recent. Yep. This one goes out to you, Grandma Hodge.
Supplies: Jillibean Soup patterned kraft paper, journaling sprout, ribbon and twine, Core'dinations cardstock, Quickutz letter dies, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Ranger glossy accents, Font: Another Typewriter, other: foam layering tape. This layout was based on a sketch by Summer Fullerton for Jillibean Soup.
Also, I am pretty excited that I will be teaching another retailers' class. This one is on Monday, May 11th in Ottawa, ON, at Multicrafts & Gifts. It's a totally technique based class using lots of Core'dination cardstock from just about every collection they carry. Here's a little sneak peek. After the event is over I will be posting images of each page from the album with details on the techniques.

5 more sleeps...

...till my girls night out! Wheeee!

For the past 4 years I have been holding a birthday scrapbooking crop. The only rule I have is that my guests are not allowed to bring a gift or card but instead a $10 donation to the charity of my choice. Charities in the past have included: Children's Health Founation, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and once again this year - Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types. As my dear husband never has any ideas for birthday gifts for me he always provides the pizza and beverages for the party. My mom makes the cake and I whip up a few salads. It's a wonderful evening with scrapbooking friends.

I had every intention of making invitations this year. I did. Really. I designed a really pretty one too....but it takes about 15 minutes to make each one and my guest list is currently sitting at 30. My math skills tells me that it would take 450 minutes to make all those cards. Yeah. No.

So, here's the invitation. Check out the cool effect provided by the sanded Core'dinations Black Magic (The Alchemist) cardstock for the night sky. Ooooo....

Supplies: Core'dinations cardstock (Black Magic - The Alchemist and All in the Family - Snowflake), Prism cardstock (flat black), Melissa Frances rubon, Amercian Crafts ribbon, Cricut diecut (Plantin Schoolbook - cityscape), other: bling.

The Little Krafty Box

I am in love.
Mini-trees and birds by Maya Road. I haven't put them away since I got them last week so every project lately has a little touch of them. I bought two sets of them so I still have a pretty good stash too.
I got looking at my collection of Jillibean Soup ribbons and strings and realized they had created a nice little tangled ball all on their own.
Plato said it best, "Necessity is the mother of invention."
So, here it is. My little krafty box which now houses my ric rac and string. This project is also posted over at It Takes All Kinds, an inspirational blog:
Supplies: Jillibean Soup - Minestrone (chopped tomatoes, canellini beans, thin zucchini), Bean Stalks (green/brown collection, red/black collection, brown/natural collection), Bean Seeds (harvest/small), Core'dinations Vintage cardstock (Reminisce collection), Maya Road chipboard trees/birds, Scenic Route worn grid paper, Stampin' Up seasons stamp and border punch, My Sentiments Exactly butterfly stamp, Heidi Swapp rubon snowflakes, Making Memories paint, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, We R' Memory Keepers eyelets and Crop-a-Dile, Autumn Leaves check stamp, Tsukineko ink, EK Success circle punch, Artful Stamper puffy paint, other: kraft box, white ric rac.
