Last weekend I got to attend the wedding ceremony for a friend of mine whom I teach with. It was a gorgeous service and I managed to snap a few...well...over 200 shots of the bride and groom on their big day.
Here's a layout that I made that was featured today over at the Jillibean Soup blog:

Supplies: Core'dinations cardstock (Snowflake white), Jillibean Soup kraft paper, corrugated alphas, patterned paper and cardstock stickers, Quickutz letter dies (Disco - "Rock Star"), Stampin' Up! butterfly die (small ones), ProvoCraft butterfly die and embossing folder (large one), and border punch, Helmar layering tape, Font: Mason, other: sewing machine and thread.

And yet another make and take

I spent last weekend teaching some make and takes for my LSS and Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine at ScrapFest. My pal, Kimber, also flew in for the event and it was awesome to be able to hang out with her, Catherine (from S&CT) and Lisa Kisch. Kimber and I managed to sneak off to see the Bare Naked Ladies play in London at the JLC on Saturday night as well...and then see my pal, Matt Dewar, play with the B.A. Baracus Band at the Brass Door. It was beyond awesome!
I thought I would share the last of my make and takes for ScrapFest today. It was a bookmark that my friend and neighbour, Kimberly Colliss, and I helped people make for five hours straight. Yeah. Five hours.
Supplies: Core'dinations cardstock (Chocolate Box, WhiteWash, Vintage, Core Impressions), Jillibean Soup kraft paper, Scenic Route grid paper, Quickutz letter dies (Diesel Grand), Cricut diecutting machine (clouds), Marvy Uchida punch (butterfly), Font: Mason, Making Memories sanding block, 3L layering tape.

And the winner is...

...Charlotte Dobson! Here's her winning layout:

Charlotte, first of all, I thought it was awesome that you found a Colour Lover's colour combo named Graduation Dress. Next, your interpretation of Becky Fleck's sketch was excellent. I love the Tulipe cut-outs and how you added dimension to this very classy layout. I hope you have it on display in your home. Also, I admire the fact that this was a photo that you were putting off scrapbooking for a while now. I always find it difficult to scrapbook a photo of myself...in fact...I can't remember the last time I have done that. You have also mastered the technique of using a scoring blade with Core'dinations to create frames. Y'all know how much I love a good Core'dinations' technique!

Finally, please drop by Charlotte's blog and read the story behind this layout. This mother of three returned to school and received her Educational Assistant Dipolma...with honours nonetheless! Good on ya, girl!

Thanks to all that participated. I was inspired by all your creations and I love how each one of you worked in a Colour Lover's colour palette and a Becky Fleck sketch from the spring issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today. You made it very difficult for me to decide...so I asked my husband to help me pick the winner this morning as well.

Congratulations, Charlotte! Please drop me an email (thehodgees@yahoo.ca) as soon as possible with your mailing address.

In less than 24 hours...

...I will be picking the winning layout for my Colour Lovers/Becky Fleck Challenge. Be sure to link me up with your project in the Mr. Linky section of my March 29th posting. You have until Friday, April 9th at 10pm EST.
In other news, last week the project below was posted over at Scrapbook & Cards Today with step-by-step instructions. It's a set of 7 recipe book bookmarks and a coordinating grocery shopping list that is magnetic. It helps you plan out a whole week of meals and then be able to find the recipes once you've purchased the groceries. It makes a great gift!

Supplies: Core'dinations cardstock (Vanilla Cream), Jillibean Soup patterned paper, twine, stamps, journaling sprouts and kraft paper, Fiskars circle punch, Tsukineko ink, 3L layering tape, Glue Dots, EK Success corner rounder (small), Bind-It-All coil and binding machine and other: sewing machine and thread.
