My Funny Valentine

This is a layout that I made based on a sketch from the April 2009 issue of Scrapbooks Etc. This layout is great for using up the last of your scraps. Clearly I have been using a lot of Jillibean Soup paper lately.

It is kind of hard to see the "My Funny" but that was the look I was trying to achieve. In order to emboss chipboard letters into Core'dinations cardstock you need to follow these steps:

1. Cut up an old Cricut mat or something with a repositionable surface. Cut the mat so that it will fit through your embossing machine AND so that it's larger than the piece of paper you will be embossing.

2. Using the grid on the mat, center your chipboard letters. In this case I used chipboard letters by Basic Grey. Lay your cardstock on top of that.

3. Place a rubber embossing mat over the entire area. In this case I used the Tan Polymer Pad by Spellbinders from their Wizard machine.

4. Run through your embossing machine. You may have to add to your sandwich if the thickness is not quite right.

The possibilities are endless when using Core'dinations ColorCore cardstock for this technique. You can then sand the surface of their cardstock to reveal the letters even more.
